DreamHack Open November 2021Spirit to use PashaBMW as stand-in for DreamHack Open November
The Kometa rifler will fill one of the two spots vacated by chopper and mir, with Patsi promoted from the academy to take the other.
Spirit will play DreamHack Open November with Pavel "PashaBMW" Tishchenko as a stand-in, a day after the Russian organization moved Leonid "chopper" Vishnyakov and Nikolay "mir" Bityukov to the bench and placed both players on the transfer list.
The 19-year-old joins on loan from Kometa, who are not scheduled to play an official match until ESL Challenger League in January. The second vacant spot goes to in-game leader Robert "Patsi" Isyanov, who has been promoted from Spirit Academy.
The changes follow a disappointing PGL Major Stockholm for Spirit, who were knocked out of the Challengers Stage with a 2-3 record after losses to FaZe, Virtus.pro, and Astralis.
PashaBMW has not played since IEM Fall CIS at the start of October, where Kometa finished fifth and he was named one of the event's EVPs. Across 100 maps with Kometa this year he has averaged a 1.32 rating and won two online titles, IronWar and the third Funspark ULTI Europe regional series. Before that he won Flashpoint 2 and cs_summit 7 with Virtus.pro, picking up MVP medals at both events.
"Kometa have no tournaments until January, so when Spirit asked, the club said yes quickly," PashaBMW told HLTV. "It is only one event and I know why I am here. I will not change how the team plays in one week, I just want to win my duels and give the guys some confidence. I know sdy and magixx from FPL, so the communication should be fine."
Spirit open their campaign in Group B of the $100,000 online event against fnatic on Wednesday, with ENCE and FORZE completing the group. The top two teams from each group advance to the semi-finals.
