Pavel "PashaBMW" Tishchenko has been named the HLTV Most Valuable Player (MVP) of Flashpoint 2 after powering Virtus.pro to a 2-1 win over OG in the grand final and the $500,000 first prize. It is the second MVP medal of the 18-year-old's career, following his award at IEM New York CIS in October.

Virtus.pro come back against OG to win Flashpoint 2

PashaBMW finished the event with a 1.39 rating over 20 maps, the highest among all players at the tournament, alongside 101.0 ADR, 0.92 kills per round, and a KAST of 77.0%. His rating was 37% higher than the Virtus.pro average, with teammate Dzhami "Jame" Ali his closest challenger in the team at 1.12.

The group stage gave little indication of what was to come. PashaBMW posted a 1.10 rating in the 2-1 win over Gen.G, and his 33-15 on Dust2 in the Group C final was not enough to stop OG from taking the series 2-1 and sending Virtus.pro into the playoffs from second place.

From there he raised his level with every round of the bracket. A 1.29 against MAD Lions was followed by a 1.73-rated series against BIG, in which he went 31-13 on Mirage, and a 1.25 in the upper bracket final against fnatic, setting up a rematch with OG.

The grand final started badly, with OG taking Mirage 16-10, but PashaBMW took over from there. He went 34-12 on Train and 27-17 on Inferno to finish the series 85-48 with a 1.57 rating and 114.8 ADR.

"It's a big tournament and a big final, so I'm very happy," PashaBMW said. "But the MVP is for the whole team. On Train and Inferno the guys gave me a lot of space, I just had to finish the rounds."

The win continues a strong autumn for the Russian side, who have now won two of their last three events, both with PashaBMW at the top of the scoreboard. Virtus.pro will next be in action at DreamHack Open December, which begins on Thursday.

For PashaBMW, the medal adds weight to his case ahead of the HLTV Top 20 Players of 2020, which will be revealed at the turn of the year.
