ESL Challenger Anaheim 2022 Europe Closed QualifierSpirit to use PashaBMW as stand-in for ESL Challenger Anaheim qualifier
The Kometa rifler returns for a second event with the Russian side, with chopper back from the bench for Saturday's closed qualifier.
Spirit will once again field Pavel "PashaBMW" Tishchenko as a stand-in, this time at the ESL Challenger Anaheim 2022 Europe Closed Qualifier on Saturday.
The 19-year-old filled in for the Russian side at DreamHack Open November last month, where Spirit lost both of their group stage matches, to fnatic and FORZE. He averaged a 1.18 rating over 4 maps at the event.
Leonid "chopper" Vishnyakov returns from the bench for the qualifier and will play alongside Abdul "degster" Gasanov, Boris "magixx" Vorobiev, and Robert "Patsi" Isyanov. Viktor "sdy" Orudzhev, who played at DreamHack, is now on the bench.
Kometa are still not scheduled to play until ESL Challenger League in January and have extended the loan by one more weekend.
"After DreamHack I really thought it was over, so I was surprised when they called again," PashaBMW told HLTV. "The results there were not good, and I want to show that I can play better with this team. It is double elimination, two losses and you are out, so there is no time to warm up."
Only one spot at ESL Challenger Anaheim is on offer in the eight-team bracket. Spirit open their campaign against DBL PONEY on Saturday.
