Pavel "PashaBMW" Tishchenko is in talks with at least two organizations about a return to competitive Counter-Strike, multiple sources have told HLTV.

The Russian has been without a team since parting ways with Volna in December 2024. In our Where are they now feature on Sunday, the 24-year-old said that he had started practicing with a team again in recent months and that he was "ready" if the right project came along.

Where are they now: PashaBMW

According to sources, one of the interested parties is Volna, who have not played an official match since PashaBMW's departure. The Kazakh organization still has four players under contract from the lineup that won YaLLa Compass 2024 and is understood to be looking at a return to competition before the end of the year.

The second party is a European organization that has not yet announced a lineup. HLTV has not been able to confirm its name, but two sources describe it as a new project that is looking for an experienced rifler to build around.

Talks with both teams are at an early stage. One point of discussion, HLTV understands, is the in-game role: at least one of the interested sides would like PashaBMW to take on more of the calling duties, while the player has signalled that he would prefer to continue in his usual role as a rifler.

Reached for comment, PashaBMW declined to discuss the reports.

The Russian has not played an official match since November 2024. His last season on record ended with a 1.39 rating over 136 maps, four titles, and the MVP medal at YaLLa Compass 2024, his first and so far only big LAN. Across his career, he holds a 1.32 rating over 699 maps.

Timing could prove a challenge for any return. A team signing PashaBMW now would be starting from scratch in the Valve Regional Standings, which would rule out a quick route to the bigger events. Sources say that has not been raised as a concern by the player, who is said to be looking for a long-term project rather than a quick return.

HLTV will keep you updated as the situation develops.
