Volna to trial PashaBMW

The Kazakh organization has started practicing with the free agent and plans to field him in online qualifiers in November while talks over a permanent deal continue.

Volna have started practicing with Pavel "⁠PashaBMW⁠" Tishchenko on a trial basis, the organization has told HLTV, a day after confirming that it was in talks with the free agent.

The 24-year-old played his first practice session with the team on Tuesday evening. According to Volna, the trial will last several weeks and will not be limited to scrims: the organization plans to field PashaBMW in online qualifiers in November.

"We agreed with Pavel that the best way for both sides to make a decision is to play together," general manager Askar Nurgaliyev told HLTV. "He will practice with the team for the next weeks, and if everything goes as planned, he will also play with us in the qualifiers in November. After that, we will sit down and talk about the contract."

No agreement on a permanent deal has been reached, and the trial does not close the door on other options for the player. The European organization that was the second party in the talks has not withdrawn its interest, HLTV understands.

The trial lineup also answers one of the open questions from the negotiations. As HLTV reported on Monday, at least one of the interested sides wanted PashaBMW to take on more of the calling duties. In Volna's practice, Egor "⁠brizer⁠" Kuzmin remains the in-game leader, with PashaBMW back in his usual role as a rifler.

"It's good to have a normal schedule again, with the team and with official games in front of us," PashaBMW said. "Nothing is decided yet, and I think that is correct. First we need to see how it works in the server."

The qualifiers would be Volna's first official matches since November 2024, when the same five players lost the Winline Insight Season 6 grand final to 9 Pandas. PashaBMW finished that event with a 1.50 rating over 18 maps, which remains his last official appearance.
